To prevent the eddying of liquids and solids from the tank bottom - tank sump, heating-oil tanks, in particular those with a flat bottom, have a fluid-permeable partition device, such as a perforated plastic film or plastic panel above the tank bottom, which film or panel prevents the bottom phase mixing with the heating oil when the tank is filled. The partition device is inserted in the tank and non-firmly connected to it. It can be held with the desired spacing from the tank bottom by spacers which are arranged, in particular, in the manner of a grid.
