<p>The plastics containers, pref. made from polyethylene terephthalate, are coated by (a) applying a liq. layer of PVC copolymer over the whole exterior surface, using a controlled polymer concn., to produce a film of uniform thickness; (b) allowing excess liq. to drain off by gravity; (c) drying the wet film by evapn. of water to leave a plastic film; and (d) cooling by forced air at ambient temp. to stabilise the container-film combination.
