PURPOSE:To aim at improvements in waterproofness with a simple construction, by covering an outer surface of a cover and an outer boundary of a pinion shaft with soft resin as one body, in case of an engine starter for an outboard motor. CONSTITUTION:An outer part 5 of an overrunning clutch 3 and each outer boundary of an inner part 4 of a pinion 1 and a pinion shaft 2 are all solidly covered with soft resin as one body. Waterdrops sticking to the pinion part 1 goes along the surface of a resin cover 14 and drops down to a front bracket 17. When a convex part 23 is installed there, these waterdrops are preventable from penetrating to the inside of a motor from bearing metal 18. Formation of rust in a starter clutch part and a motor part is prevented from occurring, thus favorable performance can be brought into full play for years. |
