PURPOSE:To handle easily the titled lens unit, to simplify a focal distance variable structure, and also to make said unit inexpensive by applying an external force to a lens body constituted of a transparent elasic body consisting of a transparent liquid or a resin, etc., so that it is deformed by a stress. CONSTITUTION:A lens unit is constituted of a lens body formed by a transparent elastic body 21 of a transparent liquid A or a resin, etc., and an actuator 20 for deforming this lens body by applying an external stress. When a piston 13 is in a neutral position of a cylinder 12, no external force is applied to the liquid A, and transparent films 11, 11 are held in a flat state. When the piston 13 is moved to the left from the neutral position, the liquid A in the cylinder 12 is extruded to a vessel 10 side by an external pressure, and the liquid A in the vessel 10 expands to the outside in the direction of an optical axis L. As a result, a convex lens is formed by the lens body consisting of the transparent films 11, 11 and the liquid A. Accordingly, a bulge curvature of the lens body is varied by adjusting the external pressure, and its focal distance is varied. |
