The damper (10) includes a casing (11) forming a flow channel (12) which includes a closure element consisting of slats which are interconnected. In the closed position, the horizontal slats form a blind. The top slat is fixed to the casing. Force needed to close the blinds is provided by springs (18) which are fixed at the ends of the bottom slat. A heat fusible link retains the damper in a closed position.
