<p>Battery has a thermoplastics case (10) with cells having offset lugs connected by straps, and a primary cover (31) with depending edges (33) and intermediate ribs to overlie the case and partition walls and sealed to them, a flat top (37) opposite intermediate terminal posts from the straps, and integral downward sleeves for filling and venting the cells. - A pair of terminal bushings is moulded into the cover for connection between an intermediate post and an exterior battery terminal. A secondary outer cover (43) overlies the primary cover, is attached to the case and has vents communicating with the sleeves and openings for the exterior terminals. The case and primary cover are pref. of polypropylene and the secondary cover is of polyethylene. (3/12)</p> |
