The device for roasting essentially comprises a pot, a lid and at least one heating bar. The heating bar is mounted on a handle and, together with the latter, can be removed from the pot parts. Safety devices prevent the heating bar being switched on if it is not inserted in the lid and, furthermore, prevent the hot heating bar from being removed from the lid. After removal of the heating bar from the pot parts, the latter can easily be cleaned by hand or in a dish-washing machine. <IMAGE>
