The subject of the invention is an implement for trimming hedges, shrubs, vines and suchlike growth, which contains two cutter carriers which are arranged spatially one above the other and can be set in oppositely directed movement by means of a drive and to which projecting cutter blades sharpened on both sides are fastened with their rear end, the cutter carriers being guided in parallel by means of pivoting levers mounted rotatably on a stationary frame. The object of the invention is to improve an implement of this type to the effect that and design it so that, on the one hand, the tendency to an increase in the play between the cutter blades moving relative to one another is restricted from the outset and, on the other hand, the possibility of a simple setting and readjustment of the play between the cutter blades is afforded. According to the invention, to achieve this object, the points of articulation (9, 9', 10, 10'), located on the cutter carriers, of the pivoting levers (6, 6', 7, 7') are arranged on the cutter carriers (3, 4) spatially in front of the fastening points (11, 11') of the cutter blades (1, 2) and the pivoting levers are connected mechanically to sliding pieces (13) guided in the stationary frame (5) (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
