PURPOSE:To stabilize the number of revolution by setting the imperceptible band according to the width of the variation of revolution in idling, in the adjustment of the intake flow-rate so that the idling revolution speed converges within the imperceptible band having a prescribed width set for an aimed number of revolution. CONSTITUTION:An engine revolution-speed detecting means (a) for detecting the number of revolution of an engine is provided, and an idling control means (d) controls a flow-rate adjusting valve (c) in a suction passage (b) so that the detected number of engine revolution is converged within the imperceptible band having a prescribed width set for an aimed number of revolution in idling. A variation-width detecting means (e) which maintains the intake flow-rate constant for a prescribed time in idling and detects the variation width of the actual number of revolution on the basis of the signal supplied from the revolution- speed detecting means (a) is provided. An imperceptible-band setting means (f) corrects and renews the width of the imperceptible band according to the output signal.
