PURPOSE:To shorten the stabilizing time at the operation start and thus to enhance the starting characteristics for the electronic gun assembly to be applied suitably to the in-line type color picture tube, by removing part of the partition of the electron beam transmission hole. CONSTITUTION:Hole 18a-18c which are formed almost concentrically to the electron beam transmission hole of control electrode 5 are provided to grid holder 17(6) of the electronic gun assembly, and part of the partitions is removed between hole 18a and 18b as well as between 18b and 18c to form slit 21 and 22. In such constitution, holder 17 is heated up to raise up the temperature, and accordingly the heat expansion occurs near hole 18b at the center part since the temperatures at the external end part 23 and 24. However, the expansion of holes 18a-18c is absorbed both in the array direction and the direction of arrow D by narrowing slit 21 and 22. The extension of holder 17(6) is reduced extremely in the direction of arrow C. Thus, no malformation is caused virtually due to the extension in the direction of arrow A, preventing electrode 5 and others from being deformed due to the warp. Furthermore, no delay of the rise is caused after start of the operation, thus obtaining a steady picture image in a short time. |
