Prodn. of mixotrophic tissue cultures

Mixotrophic tissue cultures are prepd. by cultivation in a tissue culture capable of photosynthesis, or contg. parts capable of photosynthesis, and prepd. from seeds, any vegetable part, protoplast or single cell. The culture medium contains less than 1% sugar and the cultivation is effected under illumination. - Cultivation of plants resistant to photosynthesis-inhibiting herbicides is by selection in tissue culture with use of a medium prepd. as defined above and with herbicide added. The plant parts capable of greening are isolated and plants are regenerated from them.
