A method of manufacturing a sun visor for motor vehicles in which attachment points e.g sleeve 14, bar 19 for attaching the visor to the body of the vehicle are placed into a mould between sheets of covering material, and an expanding foam material introduced between the sheets so that, as the foam material expands, it embeds anchoring portions of the attachment points, thus fixing them firmly in the foam material, and also forces the sheets outwards towards the wall ofthe mould cavity so that they take up the shape of the cavity. The sleeve 14 may be provided with pins 15 and the bar 19 with perforated spheres 20 to improve keying to the foam material. After moulding a part 12 used to assist positioning in the mould may be broken off. A vanity mirror 26 (Fig 9 not shown) may be incorporated by foaming material pressing a covering sheet around the periphery thereof. <IMAGE> |
