A hot and cold water mixer tap, in the body (1) of which there is a fixed disc (5) made of a hard material, with passage apertures communicating with inlet couplings (2, 3), mobile discs (19, 6) being able to slide over said fixed disc (5), these mobile discs which are also made of a hard material and have passage apertures being controlled by a head (7) which is guided diametrically by a member (9) mounted so as to rotate in the body (1) of the tap, and is operated by a lever (8). One edge (24) of the head (7) defines a passage (25) arranged in series in the path of the water passing through the apertures in the discs (5, 19, 6). This passage constitutes a throttling which varies so that it has no effect when the tap is open and only comes into operation starting from an intermediate adjustment position. This throttling slows the flow at intermediate flow rates, thereby damping any noise and vibration produced and enhancing the adjustment accuracy of the tap. <IMAGE> |
