New propionate and undecylenate ester(s) of di:flucortolone - with topical antiinflammatory activity and low systemic side effects

Diflucortolone propionate (I) and diflucortolone undecylenate (II) are new. They are made by reacting diflucortolone (III) with 1-3 moles corresponding acid chloride or anhydride, in anhydrous medium and in presence of proton acceptor (e.g. dimethylaniline or pyridine). Reaction is at 25-60 deg. C for 1-18 hr.
