CONTROL METHOD OF MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To reduce the control cost of a magnetic head by controlling the position of a head to be controlled so that a reproduction signal has a prescribed output and then controlling the relative position between said head and another head to be controlled. CONSTITUTION:For both lower and upper heads 4 and 5 of a reference head 31, the azimuth control, the timing control and the radial control are already performed to the revolving center of a magnetic disk 1. A stage 9 can move in the radius and tangential directions centering on the revolving center of the disk 1. Thus both heads 4 and 5 can move together with the stage 9 with the relative position maintained between them. Then the relative positions of a head to be controlled is controlled to another head to be controlled so that a reproduction signal has a prescribed output. This reduces the control cost of a magnetic head.
