PURPOSE:To make a device small in size and thin by providing opposingly a plate- shaped original platen for moving relatively in the horizontal direction, and a photosensitive body on the upper and lower parts of a copying device body, and providing an electrifier an exposing system, a developing part, a transfer part, and a fixing part between them. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body 2 and an original platen 3 formed in a shape of a plate are opposed in the horizontal direction on the upper and lower parts, and also formed so that they can move relatively in the horizontal direction. Between two pieces of plates, an electrifier 4, an exposing lamp 5, an optical fiber lens 6, a developing device 7, a transfer device 8, and a fixing roller 9 are provided in order of the copying process. When copying is started, the original platen 3 is drawn out in the direction as indicated with an arrow A, and an origintal is set. Subsequently, when a power source is turned on and the original platen is moved in the direction as indicated with an arrow B, a regular operation is executed extending from said electrifier 4 to the developing device 7. When the photosensitive plate 2 reaches the transfer part 8, a transfer paper 17 from a feed paper cassette 13 is fed to the transfer part 8, and it is transferred, and thereafter, fixed 9 and discharged to a tray 20.
