The invention relates to a track-bound vehicle, for example rail vehicle for use in towns, having steerable wheel sets. In known bogie vehicles of the aforesaid type, a radial adjustment of the entire steerable wheel set takes place when going round a bend. In this process, the steering takes place by means of a lever mechanism which transmits the deflection of the bogies with respect to the waggon body to the wheel sets. In the subject of the application, intermediate wheel hub rings (3) are attached on each side of a fixed wheel set axle (2) in such a way that they can be swivelled about the vertical together with the respective wheel which is mounted on the intermediate wheel hub ring by means of roller bearings (10). Here, the leading axle line is located perpendicular to the carriageway and coincides with the respective contact point of the wheel. The tangential adjustment of the wheel with respect to the longitudinal edge of the rail takes place in the bend in the track, is controlled by a central computer or similar and steering takes place by means of mechanical, electrical or pneumatic actuation elements. The two wheels of a wheel set are connected to one another via a hollow shaft (16), the power take-off and the drive being brought about therewith. At the same time, the conventional bogie drives can be taken over in unchanged form. Thus, with a simplified design, the actuation forces and the wear are considerably reduced, squeaking when going round a bend is completely eliminated and a kinematically satisfactory travel around the bend is achieved. <IMAGE>
