PURPOSE:To reduce remarkably a consumption quantity of a sealing gas by eliminating a vapor portion, making a gas in a throat circulate, reusing it, and executing a sealing. CONSTITUTION:A sealing device is formed to a water sealing structure by immersing the tip of a throat extended and provided from an outlet part 3 of a furnace body 1, into a cooling liquid 6, by which the inside of the throat 4 is separated from the outside, and a metallic strip 2 of a high temperature extracted from the furnace body 1 is led into the cooling liquid 6 through the throat 4 and cooled. A nozzle 10 for jetting a sealing gas toward the metallic strip 2 is provided in its throat 4, also duct lines 11, 12 for making a gas absorbed from the inside of the throat 4 circulate to the nozzle 10 are formed, and a vapor portion eliminating device 14 is provided in the duct lines 11, 12. |
