PURPOSE:To increase the reading rate of bar code printing by a reader by increasing the length of bar code image by a method in which in case where the printing of numerals by a printing select switch is regarded as unnecessary, the bar code image is extended to a numeral printing region and printed. CONSTITUTION:It is selected whether numerals 17 are printed or not below a bar code image 11 by a printing select switch 7. In case where the printing of numerals is regarded as unnecessary, the bar code image 11 is extended to a numeral printing region 18 and printed. The length of the bar code image in such a state that no numerals are printed can thus be increased, and the reading rate of the bar code can be enhanced. |
