PURPOSE:To obtain a one-component developer having excellent developability and transferrability by forming a discontinuous layer of conductive external additive particles on at least the surface layer of insulating particles consisting essentially of a specific binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The discontinuous layer consisting of the conductive external additive particles is formed on at least the surface layer of insulating particles contg. the binder resin contg. a monomer component having a nitrogenous polar functional group as an essential component. The methacrylate or acrylate having the substd. amino group expressed by the formula is preferably used for the monomer component. Inorg. oxide (for example, Al2O3, TiO2, silica, tin oxide, etc.) such as metallic oxide, inorg. halide, inorg. salt, carbon, etc. are used for the conductive external additive. The electric charge generated by the charge exchange of the amino group in the toner resin with the conductive component of the external additive is utilized and the electric resistivity is adjusted to >=10<14>OMEGAcm by forming the discontinuous layer on the surface layer of the insulating particles. |
