Substituted imidazo- and pyrimido-1,3,5-thiadiazin-4-ones of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another represent hydrogen, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, trifluoromethyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, nitro, benzyl, phenyl, phenoxy, phenylthio, or phenoxy which is mono- or disubstituted by radicals selected from the group comprising halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, trifluoromethyl, nitro, methoxy and ethoxy, R4, R5, R6 and R7 independently of one another represent hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl and n represents 0 or 1; processes for the preparation of these compounds, and compositions containing these compounds for use in pest control, in particular for controlling insects and representatives of the order Acarina which attack plants and animals. The compounds are effective, in particular, against the larval stages and nymphs of feeding, plant-injurious insects. The novel compounds show specific activity against plant-injurious leaf hoppers, in particular in rice crops.
