PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric drive motor which reduces in weight and size by coaxially providing cylindrical member of elastic material at a rotational shaft, and transmitting only one direction of the vibration of a piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:Supporting means 2a, 2b having ball bearings are secured onto a base 1, and a rotational shaft 3 is rotatably supported. A cylindrical member 4 made of elastic member is inserted to the shaft 3, and a U-shaped drive member 5 is secured through a spacer 10 via a bolt 11 onto the base 1. Piezoelectric elements 6a, 6b are bonded fixedly to the member 5, and the member 5 is vibrated by energizing it externally. Engaging members 7a, 7b are secured to the member 5, the free ends are engaged with the radial opposed portions of the member 4, and the member 4 is driven in the outer peripheral tangential direction by the vibration. Thus, a cylindrical member 4 is rotated in the prescribed direction. |
