High-voltage, high-power fuse

High-voltage, high-power fuses cannot disconnect currents less than approximately three times their rated current. Since the load interrupter switch, which is combined with the high-voltage, high-power fuse, reliably copes with currents which are less than three times the rated current of the fuse it is proposed, according to the main application P 3409957.3 to provide a high-voltage, high-power fuse having an overload device. This overload device consists of a bimetallic trip device in the circuit of the high-voltage, high-power fuse. According to the additional application, it is provided for a thermal or temperature trip device to be used as the trip device, which is inserted in the circuit or in the vicinity of the circuit of the high-voltage, high-power fuse.
