PURPOSE:To increase remarkaby an effective transmission area, to raise the transmission efficiency, and also to execute easily a bundling work of an optical fiber by forming a fiber bundle by sticking tightly and adjacently the optical fiber to (n) pieces of surface of the optical fiber whose section has an (n) angle shape. CONSTITUTION:As for an optical fiber 1, a clad 3 is stuck thinly to the surface of a core whose section is hexagonal. Also, optical fibers 1'- are stuck tightly and adjacently to six surfaces 1a-1f, respectively, of the optical fiber 1, and they are enlarged successively and an optical fiber bundle 4 is constituted. Accordingly, a gap scarcely exists between the adjacent optical fibers, an optical signal effective transmission area is increased ramarkably, and the transmission efficiency can be improved. Also, when bundling the optical fibers, the fiber can be arranged naturally, therefore, a bundling work of the fibers can be executed very easily. |
