PURPOSE:To reduce deterioration of a reforming catalyzer due to its reaction with electrolyte vapor by forming a reforming catalyzer filling grooves on a gas separation plate apart from an anode electrode, while so constituting as to supply anode gas to an anode gas flow path through the reforming catalyzer filling grooves. CONSTITUTION:Row fuel such as natural gas blended with steam is supplied from one side of an anode gas supply/exhaust manifold 20 partitioned by a partition plate 21 for entering the reforming catalyzer filling grooves 17 filled with the reforming catalyzer 8 while being reformed into hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbonic acid gas due to the action of reforming catalyzer 8. Generated heat accompanied by electrochemical reaction generated inside a single cell 4 is utilized by said reaction while being transmitted through a separator plate 5. Produced reformation anode gas entered an anode gas flow path 7 in a return mamifold 22 for being supplied to an anode electrode 1 by diffusion while flowing through the flow path 7. Then, a hydrogen components in the gas is reduced so much as consumed by cell reaction while conversely steam and a carbonic acid component are increased for being exhausted from an outlet of the manifold 20 of the outside of the system. |
