PURPOSE:To improve the fretting fatigue strength of a dovetail of a core retaining plate by applying a compression force to the plate so that the remaining compression stress exists in the thicknesswise direction. CONSTITUTION:A field core 4 is formed of laminated thin iron plates 1, clamping bolts 2 and a core retaining plate 3, and a field winding 5 is wound on the core 4 to form a winding field pole 6. The pole 6 is mounted on a yoke 8 by the plates 1 and the dovetail 7 of the plate 3. A compression force is applied to the plate 3 so that the remaining compression stress exists in the thicknesswise direction. Thus, the fretting fatigue strength of the dovetail 7 of the plate 3 is improved from the fact that the remaining compression stress exists, thereby obtaining a rotor of a rotary electric machine having the plate 3. |
