To extract water from wet pulp (26), at the fourdrinier section (10) of a papermaking machine, the fourdriniers (20,22) are supported (34) along the path between the web forming section (14) and the suction section (16). Also claimed is an assembly where water extraction bars (34) support the fourdriniers (20,22) in their path between the web forming section (14) and the suction section (16).
