FORMATION OF OPTICAL FIBER COMPOSITE OVERHEAD EARTH-WIRE

PURPOSE:To eliminate the large labor load and economical loss accompanying the removal of an existent overhead earth-wire from a support tower by forming the optical fiber composite overhead earth-wire without scrapping the existent overhead earth-wire. CONSTITUTION:The overhead earth-wire 1 is separated from an installation route 2 and both ends of it are placed in end-surface release states 1A and 1B. The tip of a new optical fiber cable C for draw replacement in a drum 8 is connected to the end part of the existent optical fiber cable W exposed from the release end of the disconnected overhead earth-wire 1. Then, a traction wire 7 is connected to the end part of the existent optical fiber cable W exposed in the release end surface 1A of said separated overhead earth-wire 1, and while the existent optical fiber cable W is drawn out of the hollow part of the overhead earth-wire 1 by a drawing-up device 9. A new optical fiber C connected to the other end part of the optical fiber W is drawn and inserted into the hollow part 3 of the overhead earth-wire 1 successively. The end part of the optical fiber cable C exposed at the end part of the overhead earth-wire 1 is introduced into a connection box 6 and connected optically.
