Detonating appts. for projection responds to target impact

A detonating sensor assembly for projectiles and high-speed aircraft is intended for detecting impact and for discriminating against small-calibre defensive weapons. The assembly consists of a ring of impact flash sensors arranged around the fuselage of the projectile in such a way that only when a target is struck do all the sensors detect the impact flash. When, however, a small calibre projectile is encountered, the resultant relatively weak flash is incapable of activating all the sensors and consequently the detonator is not actuated. The light flash sensors or impact flash sensors may be used in combination with other sensors.
