PURPOSE:A germicide having an immediate effect not only on bacteria but also on fungi, not destroying a material to be sterilized, having no toxicity at all, showing high safety, obtained by blending an alcohol with a specific amount of sorbic acid. CONSTITUTION:An alcohol is blended with 1-3wt% sorbic acid, to give a germicide having a deodorizing effect to remove a putrid smell resulting from bacteria by sterilizing the bacteria. The germicide has higher germicidal effects on various kinds of bacteria than germicides, etc. obtained by blending an alcohol with a carbonic acid gas, and shows 15 times the immediate effect of an alcohol for disinfection. Safety of each component has been confirmed, and since blending of both the components causes no chemical reaction, the germicide has high safety. Because it has improved rapidly drying properties besides the immediate effect, it is usable for emergency disinfection, prevention of infection after operation, prevention of infection in hospitals, etc. |
