PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat storage type heat exchanger provided with a heat storage body layer for adhering dust flowing into the heat storage body to permit stabilized operation and capable of removing simply the dust adhered to the heat storage body layer. SOLUTION: The heat storage type heat exchanger 1 equipped with a heat storage body 3 arranged in an outer shell 2 is provided with a heat storage body layer 4, provided at the lower temperature side of the heat storage body 3, and provided with a supporting body having a reticulated surface as well as ball type heat storage bodies disposed on the supporting body so that at least one layer can be moved to remove dust, and the inserting unit 7 as well as the discharging unit 8 of the ball type heat storage bodies 4a provided on the outer shell 2 along the upper surface of the supporting body.
