PURPOSE:To easily reduce the size of a camera by controlling the light transmission/nontransmission state of liquid crystal or electrochromic elements provided on object-side surfaces of plural optical frames of an Albade viewfinder and switching optical frames. CONSTITUTION:A transparent plate 2 where liquid crystal or electrochromic elements are arranged closely is provided in contact with optical frames 1a and 1b for plural viewfinders on the object-side surface of an ocular lens 1. The optical frames are both viewed in the beginning, but when a contact 5a or 5b of a changeover switch 5 is closed selectively, liquid crystal (electrochromic element) 1a or 1b becomes transparent and the other becomes opaque, so that only the desired optical frame remains in the viewfinder while the other becomes opaque. Consequently, the need for a movable part is eliminated and this device suits to a compact camera.
