PURPOSE:To suppress the fluctuation of the internal pressure of a galvanic cell type oxygen sensor with an increase or decrease in the amt. of an electrolyte and to prevent the deformation of a diaphragm or positive electrode by incorporating an easily expandable and contractable gas bag in which gas is filled into the electrolyte part of said sensor. CONSTITUTION:A press plate 3 between a vessel body 1 and a vessel cap 2, O- rings 4, 4', 4 the diaphragm 5 consisting of a film of a tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer, the positive electrode 6 consisting of gold, carbon paper 7 having a function as an electrode holder and a function as a current collector and a positive electrode current collector 8 consisting of a titanium wire are inserted and screwed into and to the galvanic cell type oxygen sensor. The electrolyte 9 consisting of an aq. soln. mixture composed of acetic acid, potassium acetate and lead acetate, a negative electrode 10 consisting of lead and the gas bag 11 manufactured of a thin PVC film are contained in the body 1.
