PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having flat spectral sensitivity from a visible region to a near IR region, high sensitivity and excellent mechanical strength such as wear resistance by incorporating a specific squarium pigment into a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The squarium pigment expressed by the formula (X is H, F, Cl, Br, NO2 or CN) is formed by vacuum deposition, etc. on a conductive base 1 or by using a commonly used org. high-polymer compd. as a binder to form an electrostatic charge generating layer 2. A photoconductive polymer layer incorporating polyvinyl pyrene or polyvinyl carbazole or a layer consisting of triphenyl methane, etc. into a binder is provided as an electrostatic charge transfer layer 3 on the layer 2 to form the laminated photosensitive layer. The electrophotographic sensitive body which has the high sensitivity from the visible region to the near IR region, the flat spectral sensitivity and the excellent mechanical strength such as wear resistance is thus obtd. |
