PURPOSE:To perform optical multiplexing with a high capacity by combining revoluting parabolic bodies which are easy to produce and arranging optical fibers or the like in their focuses to multiplex optical waves by reflectin on paraboloids. CONSTITUTION:Parabolic bodies 1, 1', and 1'' which have outside peripheral surfaces formed to paraboloids and have focuses 2, 2', and 2'' respectively and are worked to smooth surfaces on revolving shafts including focuses and are made of transparent material are combined, and their outside peripheral surfaces are coated by metal vapor-deposition, plating, or the like, and optical fibers 3, 3', and 3'' are fixed ro focuses 2, 2', and 2'' by butting adhesive or the like. In this consitution, when lights having wavelengths lambda1 and lambda2 are made incident on optical fibers 3 and 3', lights are discharged to parabolic bodies 1 and 1' from focuses 2 and 2' and are parallel optical beams and are reflected on the paraboloid of the parabolic body 1'' and are all condensed on the focus 2'', and both lights having wavelengths lambda1 and lambda2 are made incident on the optical fiber 3'', and thus, they are multiplexed. |
