The invention relates to a cooking vessel which can be placed removably in an outer vessel with spacing from the wall over the entire height, said outer vessel being any suitable vessel or one which is matched to said cooking vessel and which receives a water bath. The cooking vessel is constructionally combined with a securing member and a bearing shoulder, the latter two items being able to engage in the outer vessel in such a way that the cooking vessel is secured in relation to the outer vessel both against rising movements and against lowering movements and is nevertheless quickly and easily releasable at any time. For release, the securing member is provided with a handle which also forms a securing member against rotation which can engage in the handle aperture of a carrying handle of the outer vessel so that the vessels cannot be rotated relative to one another about their mid-axis.
