BEAM REINFORCING STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF WOODEN BUILDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly reinforce an existing beam when removing a column without temporarily receiving the beam. SOLUTION: A column-beam frame 2 is composed of a pair of existing columns 4 and 4 erected on mutually oppositely arranged sills 3, and the existing beam 5 extended to the existing columns. This beam reinforcing structure 1 of a wooden building is respectively adhered to respective side surfaces of the existing beam 5 by sandwiching a pair of attached plates 6 and 6 from its both sides so that its fiber direction becomes parallel to the material axis of the existing beam 5. The pair of the attached plates 6 and 6 are composed of a veneer laminated material called LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber). Tensile strength of its direction is enhanced by laminating a plurality of veneers so that these fiber directions become the same. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
