PURPOSE:A perforated glass plate is put on a table which has molding holes of a larger diameter than the perforations, softened by heating, then a weight for molding is allowed to come down to press the peripheries of the perforations whereby a glass article with a collar around the opening can be readily formed. CONSTITUTION:Prescribed holes 2 are bored on a glass plate 1. Meanwhile, a table D which has molding holes E of a larger diameter than the holes 2 (R means the round periphery on the shoulder; C are legs) is placed in a furnance A (B means heater). Then, the glass plate 1 is placed on the table D so that the holes 2 are overlapped on the molding holes E and softened by heating. Weights for molding F are allowed to come down by their own weight into the holes 2 to deform the peripheries of the holes 2 along the inner surfaces of the molding holes E. Then, the product is gradually cooled down to give an ornamental glass ware which has collared holes (3) and can be used as, e.g., a louver for illumination.
