PURPOSE:To increase the life of a sealed lead storage battery by improving the ability of the negative plate to absorb oxygen gas and suppressing the decrease in the amount of electrolyte by applying a dispersion liquid prepared by dispersing a fluorine-system resin in a solvent to the inner surface of a container touching the negative plate. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion liquid prepared by dispersing a fluorine-system resin in a solvent is applied to the inner surface of a container to form a film which prevents the inner surface of the container from being wetted by electrolyte, thereby constituting a maintenance-free sealed lead storage battery. Therefore it is possible to greatly increase the efficiency of the reaction between a negative plate having water repellent property which is closely related to the performance of the battery, and oxygen gas produced during charging. Consequently, the life of the battery can be increased by suppressing the decrease in the amount of the electrolyte caused by charging and discharging. |
