PURPOSE:To enable the recording of a wave form faithful to the operation of an object even if there is an input mistake, by operating the differential of falling detection data and judging data as abnormality when said operated differential exceeds a reference value and interpolating data by using preceding and succeeding data. CONSTITUTION:In detecting the falling of a moving object such as a control rod in an atomic reactor, primary differential A is operated with respect to falling detection data V(I) at time Ti by formula I and compared with a first reference set value H and, when A>H, secondary differential B is operated by formula II. Next, the differential B is compared with a second reference set value H-2, and, when B<2XH, interpolation data is operated by formula III. When A>H and B<2XH, the falling detection data V(I) at the time Ti is judged as abnormal and interpolation data is used in place thereof to perform processing.
