PURPOSE:To cool and heat a liquid such as the engine oil, etc. with a simple structure of a rotary container containing the 1st and 2nd store rooms for the 1st and 2nd metallic hydrides, by securing alternate contacts between the liquid and both rooms and shifting mutually the gaseous hydrogen between these rooms. CONSTITUTION:For a cooling device of the engine oil 2, a rotary container 3 is set into an oil pan 1 storing the oil 2. A rotary shaft 4 serving as the axial core of the container 3 is supported by a bearing 5 and revolved freely. A ceramic flat plate type heat insulating wall 6 is provided into the container 3 to divide the 1st and 2nd store rooms 3a and 3b. These rooms store the metallic hydrides 7a and 7b respectively. Furthermore both rooms 3a and 3b are communicated to each other via a link path 8 and a solenoid valve 9. Then a drive motor 10, etc. are controlled with signals given from a liquid temperature sensor 12 and a pressure sensor and by means of a control unit 11. Thus the gaseous hydrogen is shifted from a store room having a contact with the oil 2 to the other room while the container 3 is revolved. Then the oil 2 is cooled by an endothermic action. |
