PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a cylindrical alkaline storage battery by welding an end of an anode plate to a side of a container forming metal plate having sealing parts at both ends to form a spirally wound plate group, and forming the metal plate in a cylinder, then sealing the metal plate. CONSTITUTION:For forming a cylindrical alkaline storage battery, one end of an anode plate 2 having a specified shape is welded on a side of a container forming metal plate 4 having sealing parts 5 on both sides, and a separator 3, a cathode plate 1 are placed on the anode plate 2 in order. Plates 1 and 2 and separator 3 are wound from the other end to form a aporally wound plate group, then the metal plate 4 is bent in a cylindrical form so as to wrap the plate group, and sealing parts are fixed to form a container 6. By welding a part of the plate group to the metal plate 4, slipping of the electrode plate during winding is prevented and reliability is increased. |
