PURPOSE:To obtain colored stainless steel having a constant hue at all times by adjusting the concns. of H2SO4, CrO3 and Cr<3+> in a coloring soln. to a prescribed value each. CONSTITUTION:A mixed aqueous soln. contg. sulfuric acid and chromic acid or dichromate is prepd. as a coloring soln. The concns. of H2SO4 and CrO3 in the coloring soln. are adjusted to a prescribed value each, and the concn. of Cr<3+> is adjusted to <=30g/l. Stainless steel is colored by immersion in the coloring soln. By this method, if the temp. of the coloring soln. and the coloring time are constant, colored stainless steel having a constant hue is obtd. at all times. |
