PURPOSE:To obtain the titled leather composed of a substrate layer covered with a film layer and having excellent texture and body, by printing the surface of the film layer with a printing ink containing microcapsules containing thermally expandable foaming agent, and expanding the ink with heat. CONSTITUTION:A substrate layer 1 made of woven or knit cloth, etc. is covered with a film layer 2 such as colored vinyl chloride film to obtain a leather (artificial leather). The surface of the film layer 2 is printed in a pattern with a printing ink 4 mixed with microcapsules 3 containing thermally expandable foaming agent, and is covered with a protective layer 5 made of a transparent film, etc. The obtained laminate is heated to cause the expansion of the microcapsules 3' and the swelling of the printed part, and a pattern-printed leather having excellent texture and body can be manufactured.
