The two brake circuits are separated by a wall through which a thrust rod presses. The first circuit operates directly between the pressure supply and the brakes. The open circuit is switched to a closed circuit when the anti-skid control operates. The switching valve switches the servo pressure for the closed circuit via the servo valve. The pedal operated control piston is fitted with a servo stop incorporating a sprung support with a failsafe setting on servo failure.
