摘要 A forging is taken up by a split ring which supports the forging at a circumferential wall and an upper circumferential flange. The forging and the split ring are supported by a locating device when a deburring device is moved in the longitudinal direction in order to debur the flange and an aperture in the forging. A punching tool with a hardened cutting edge is moved axially through the aperture in the forging, interacting with a cutting edge on the locating device in order to deburr the aperture. A punching tool with a cutting edge simultaneously interacts with a cutting edge of the split ring in order to deburr the upper flange. The split ring prevents a central area of the forging from being expanded outwards over its circumference under the action of the punching tool forced through the aperture. The interaction of the deburring tool and of the split ring prevents the upper part of the forging, which adjoins the upper flange, from being drawn inwards into the aperture in the forging due to the interaction between the punching tool and the forging. In this way, the aperture and the flange of the forging are deburred simultaneously without deformation of the forging.
