A firing training device is described which consists of a sleeve which can be pushed into the barrel of a shotgun or the like instead of the cartridge, has an electrical contact-making device at one end instead of the detonating cap and has a light source at the other end which is provided with a focusing device and is able to emit a light flash on operation of the contact-making device, and of an aiming device onto which the focused light beam strikes and which indicates the hit, the aiming device comprising, according to the invention, an electronic receiving apparatus for the focused light beam emitted from the barrel of the shotgun or the like, a visual or audible indicating device being connected downstream therefrom, directly or via a transmission channel.
