A wheel slip control system is described in which in the event of a tendency to spin on one wheel this is subjected to controlled braking and in which the engine torque is also controlled as a function of the tendency to slip on the driven wheels. The system is so designed that if brake pressure falls on at least one of the wheel brakes, control of the engine torque is interrupted and the engine torque is kept constant for a time.
