PURPOSE:To enhance the density of a printing image by increasing the amount of a sublimable dye at one time, by providing a thermally sublimable ink layer to the surface of the metal vapor deposition layer provided to the surface of a film substrate of which the back surface is made hardly adherent to a thermal head for thermal sublimation. CONSTITUTION:A metal vapor deposition layer with a thickness of 100-800Angstrom comprising aluminum, silver or zinc is formed to the surface of a film substrate with a thickness of 1.2-25mum comprising polyester or polyimide. Next, a sublimable dye and a binder are dispersed in and mixed with 40-180pts.wt. of a volatile solvent, in such a ratio that the sublimable dye is 1-10pts.wt. and the binder is 19-10pts.wt. after drying when total pts.wt. of both of them are set to 20, and the resulting dispersion is further applied to the metal vapor deposition layer and dried to provide a sublimable ink layer with a thickness of 0.5-5mum. Further, one or more of a heat resistant resin such as a silicone resin is applied to the back surface of the film substrate to obtain a thermally sublimable recording medium. |
