IMPROVED PLASTIC GUSSETTED BAG CONSTRUCTION

A disposable or reusable and reclosable thermoplastic bag (10) capable of being compactly stored as a food container in freezers, yet capable of standing with an upright but foldable spout (16) in a microwave oven for non-spill thawing and cooking of food contained in the bag (10). The bag (10) is formed of two wing-shaped pouches (12, 14) on either side of the upright spout (16) and contains a reinforcing band (24) across the gussetted bag bottom between the two pouches (12, 14) to prevent bag bottom rupture and subsequent leakage from the bag (10) during use.
